Kalyaani's Comment : I am a simple person who has travelled quite a bit and I think born with a bohemian spirit, I have been part of the corporate life but somehow that doesn’t make a lot of sense in it even though I could pretend just fine while doing that, But i connect to beauty that is around us and try and find out a light at the end of the tunnel, which probably make me an Optimist apparently but my way out to share what I feel is through music and I write songs that are totally connected to the basic fabric of human life and we all can connect to it on different levels. I write happy, sad, angry, disappointed, finding our purpose and just trying to be yourself kind of songs and I am the Lead Vocals/ Songwriter/Manager for my Band Anantara apart from the solo work I do. I am influenced by various genres that speak to me with strong presence of Jazz and Blues, I am influenced by the writing of Mama Kin, John Mayer, Nina Simone, Eric Clapton, Tracy Chapman and a lot more to even talk about and are my teachers.
Let me introduce you to the other half of the Band who is the founder of the band. Vikrant Thakur, (Lead & Rhythm Guitar/Vocals/Composer) hails from Himachal Pradesh. His influence ‘Gods of Guitar’ is really contagious. Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton & Jimmy Page are just some of the ‘mantra’s he has been chanting religiously. Vikrant has been perfecting his skills for the past 8 years and is a student of the popular Hindi band, Silk Route’s Guitarist, ‘Atul Mittal’. He is a magician in the making and can create some illusion rhythms with his acoustic guitar. Man of few words…. “Very shy person and lets the guitar does the talking.
