Event Description : International Day of Women "Women without piano (La mujer sin piano)" film screening.

A woman who wants to make a break with her past gets caught in an unexpected dilemma in this comedy-drama from Spanish writer and director Javier Rebollo. Rosa is a Madrid housewife who leads a drab existence; she looks after her husband Francisco, keeps the house clean, runs a part-time hair removal business out of her home, and tries to ignore the constant ringing in her ears. But one night, after Francisco has gone to bed for the night, Rosa puts on a dressy outfit, grabs her suitcase and leaves home, hoping to catch a bus and start a new life. However, her plan runs into a major snag when she's unable to get a ticket and befriends Radek, a half-bright former convict from Poland. Rosa is good hearted enough to see that Radek needs a friend, but when he has a seizure and had to be taken to the hospital, she sees that's she's gotten herself into more trouble than she counted on. Woman Without Piano was an official selection at the 2009 BFI London Film Festival.
