Event Description : The School of Arts and Aesthetics Jawaharlal Nehru University Invites you to a Talk by Dr. Ratheesh Radhakrishnan "Writing to Kim Ki Duk, Talking with Zanussi : World Cinema, Film Festival and the Region".

Ratheesh Radhakrishnan teaches at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Bombay after completing his PhD from the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society, Bangalore. He was Postdoctoral Fellow at the Chao Center for Asian Studies at Rice University (Houston TX). His areas of interest include the study of masculinity, Malayalam cinema with an emphasis on the link between aesthetics and economics, and questions of regional culture. He is currently working on a project titled ‘The Worlds of the Region’ focusing on the non-national resources that constitute regional cultures in postcolonial India.
