Delhi Karavan brings to you, a talk session on Mughal Emperor “Bahadur Shah Zafar “who was a Sufi by nature and has a very deep & poignant story behind him. His full name was “Mirza Abu Zafar Sirajuddin Muhammad Bahadur Shah”, and he was the man destined to watch dusk envelop the Mughal Empire in India. Ironically, this Mughal emperor, who was also an acclaimed poet, used a nom de plume -Zafar - meaning victory, when in reality; he sat on his throne much like a defeated leader. In the finall years of his life, Zafar was banished from his own kingdom, and he lived in a state of utter despair in Rangoon, where he is said to have composed the famous lines
"Kitne badnaseeb hai Zafar
dafn ke liye/ Do gaz zameen bhi na mili ku-e-yaar mein"
