Synopsis: Itinerarios shows several poetical routes that his author traverses in search of a voice. Book of mourning and approximations, of contemplative inquiry and internal stillness, the poems are accounts of the tricks of desire and absence through introspection and its limits. “Many of us have wanted to write about what there is before the act of writing, instead of taking it for granted. If yours is an exploratory writing, this is inevitable. You want to know who is writing that which your hand is recording. It can become solipsistic, navel-gazing, leading to nothingness, because we assume that it is impossible to separate the hand from the mind; the heart, which beats prior to the act of writing” (from the prologue, by Noni Benegas).
Poemas metálicos “To achieve his personal worldview our poet uses magical and masterful form with powerful imagination and great associative capacities, and also uses certain resources of expressive enhancement: the personification of Nature, synaesthesia or sensory confusion applied to the time or to the space, metaphors and prodigious images.” (Ángel Guinda, on Poemas metálicos).
