VSO India Presents 'Equa-thon' a run to support People with disabilities at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Bhisma Pitamah Road, Lodhi Road > 7am to 9th February 2014

Event Description : VSO India is an Indian development organisation committed to addressing issues of poverty and exclusion. It works for empowerment of marginalised communities including dalits, tribals, Muslims, women and disabled people on issues of health, education, livelihood, and disabilities. We work through partners, volunteers and communities. We are a part of VSO international, the world’s leading independent, international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in 42 countries across the globe.
People with disabilities, their friends and families, sports persons, celebrities, civil society groups, corporate professionals, youth, volunteers, media professionals and many more will run off the Delhi chill with their energy and cheer. No matter what your level of fitness or nature of disability is, come and be part of Equa-thon where all of us will run together.

Supported by UK AID, we hope this initiative becomes the cornerstone for an even more robust, rights based campaign on disability in India. With the Disability Bill slated to be passed in the upcoming parliamentary session, we hope that Equa-thon will add value and spirit to the call for inclusion and equality. So take out your running shoes and participate in the event in full vigour with your friends, family, colleagues and networks.
