Event Description : Book Launch : The geometry of the mud by David Rodríguez.
Synopsis: In the early twentieth century, in the same fertile years in Europe , stimulated by the political and social situation, the avant-garde was brewing , an Indian poet wrote the most profound and beautiful lines, based on the contemplation of nature and being human. Rabindranath Tagore, who had recently lost several of its most beloved people, reached the summit by poetic pain and agonizing consciousness of mortality . With a rhythmic and refined language, his poems sung to death, to love, to the tribulations of man and the beauty of the earth , the sky, the sun and stars. Through a thoughtful and poetic discourse with a capacity of extraordinary observation, Bengali poet helped to understand the mystery behind the world around us.
In " The geometry of barro" The Child, which is the longest poem written by Tagore in English, and Poems, a collection of poems that remained unpublished until just after his death and whose last poem, composed in December meet 1939 , was sung at the funeral of Indian poet, as he had expressly stated. This publication rescues in Spanish for the first time these two magnificent texts of Rabindranath Tagore to commemorate the centenary of the award of the Nobel Prize (1913).
David Rodríguez is devoted to his profession as a librarian since the last twelve years. He has worked in the city of Valladolid and has been responsible for CIDES library Documentation and Information Center of Socio Studies) and the library of the Royal Chancellery Archives (Ministry of Culture of Spain ) . He has also worked in development programs revitalization projects to reading and has collaborated in the creation of digital libraries of scientific nature. Currently he is responsible for the library of the House of India and member of the management team of Indianet.es platform. In the literary field , David is the author of numerous publications poetry, novels , theater, etc.) , For which he has received over thirty awards. Among his works are : “Do not bother, please” , “Conversations on the edge of the boat”, “Lisi”, “The Tenth Muse” and “The three curses of Ursula Brull”, to name a few . In 2014 his new novel will “Imperfect Statue”.
