Event Description : Friends of Music presents Strings of Music.

Friends of Music hit off with its first gig last month at Blue Frog Terrace successfully. Creating a space where musicians can share their music, interact with other musicians and where music lovers can access new sounds. An open place for artists and audiences alike, FOM is also a platform for young and upcoming talent.
Back in 1994, FOM began as an informal network of musicians and a handful of devoted fans. Thriving as a unique hub for live music in Delhi, FOM organically grew into an organized monthly event giving upcoming musicians a chance to perform their original material across varied genres. FOM not only showcased great music, but also gave birth to some renowned artists and groups. Past performances include: Indian Ocean, Mrigya, Mohit Chauhan, Just Us, Bobby Cash, Honey Drippers, Euphoria, Parikrama, Orange Street, Vivienne & Merlin, Rajasthan Roots, Langas and Manganiars, Honey Drippers, Baul Singers, Rabi Shergill, Show of Hands UK, Rag Foundation, Billy Bizz, Natraja XT, Dana Gillespie & The London Blues Band, the list goes on.
This month, FOM will feature ‘Strings of the World’ - a two day unique world-music festival dedicated to string instruments. Alongside representing major musical genres: from Western and Hindustani classical to folk, jazz and more, it will showcase novel, rare and dying string instruments. From the ravanhattha to the cello; the koto to the veena; the violin to the sarod - the line up features exceptional artists from Holland, India, Norway, Scotland, and Slovenia. Join us over two days of well orchestrated performances, fusion acts and an inimitable jam session!
