Time : 10:00 am - 11:30 am (walk will start at 10 am sharp. Guests are requested to be on time.)

Entry : Rs. 600 per child (8-13 year olds) – accompanying parent to join at no cost.
A parent can join the tour with the child at no extra cost.

Event Description : Mapping Mehrauli – ‘know your city’ walks for children by Beyond Delhi
This historic urban-village, with beautiful old buildings and fascinating stories that attach contemporary beliefs and practices to them, is a quaint pocket of the city located beside the Qutub Minar.

Today, this settlement is a culturally rich area consisting of several historic structures like the tomb of Adham Khan (son of Maham Angah, the wet nurse of Emperor Akbar), Gandhak  ki Baoli, the shrine of Qutubuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki, Zafar Mahal,  and Moti Masjid to name a few. It also has a unique structure within its bazaar called Hijron ka Khanqah or sufi spiritual retreat for the eunuchs. We will also introduce Sufism to children and help them understand the concept through the stories of Sufi saints.

Mapping Mehrauli intends to explore all this and much more as we walk around the village by-lanes, bazaars and buildings that silently lie-in- wait for someone to ask their stories.
