Event Description : Smile Train presents 'Smil Pinki' film screening. 

Smile Train a US based global charity devoted to the cause of helping poor children born with cleft lips and cleft palates in developing countries.
In 2008 it produced a 39-minute documentary – ‘Smile Pinki’ - directed by Megan Mylan. The film shows the story of a poor girl born with a cleft lip in eastern UP whose life is transformed after she receives free surgery to correct her cleft lip
This documentary went on to win an Oscar at the 81st Academy Award in 2009.

Smile Train has, since inception, sponsored safe, quality and totally free corrective cleft surgeries for over 9, 50,000 children in 80+ developing countries…. including more than 3,75,000 surgeries in India where through local doctors, not those flown in from the West. Smile Train’s cost effective ‘model’ made the New York Times call it “…one of the most productive charities - dollar for deed - in the world!”
