Event Description : In a bid to create awareness about Breast Cancer and the importance of its early detection, The Roko Charitable Cancer Trust organizes an event at Select Citywalk.
Breast cancer is the only cancer which if detected early can save lives of the women. The aim of the event is to encourage women to go for regular checkups, to look out for early warning signs and not hesitate or delay the visit to the doctor.
The event will open with a foot tapping flash mob dance to be performed by the students of the Shiamak Davar Victory Group. The dance performance will open the stage for the awareness initiatives to be passed on to the shoppers at the mall. There will be a thematic performance by Dance YOU Institute of performing Arts and Music by Sukoon Band. DJ Aman Batta from Rattle and Hum will be seen anchoring the show as a support to the cause.
Following the event, doctors will give out messages about the awareness and the importance of early detection of breast Cancer.
Roko Cancer on this occasion will distribute FREE Self Examination special GLOVES to all the women. Three days prior to the event, the trust placed a kiosk at the mall which gave information on the organization and the cause and distributed pink merchandise against a donation to celebrate breast cancer awareness month. This KiOSK was courtesy - Anne & Bra, a lingerie store which readily supports the cause of Breast Cancer.
The chief guest for the event is cancer winner Dimple Bawa, who has courageously battled with Breast Cancer and has surfaced as a winner. She would share her experience with the people to encourage other women to take care of their health and be fearless and courageous.
Dr Puneet Gupta - Senior Medical Adviser, Roko Cancer and Director, Metro Hospitals, Preet Vihar, Dr Mandeep Malhotra - Senior Surgeon Breast Reconstruction, Fortis , Dr Swarupa Mitra - Consultant, Radiation Oncologist, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, Dr RK Ganjoo - Air Vice Marshal Retd, AVSM ,Senior Head &Consultant Medicine, Asian Clinic, GK-1, Dr Mahajan of Mahajan Imaging, Hauz Khas Enclave, Dr Vijay Singh Rawat - DMRA, MD, Radiology, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Dr Manu Noatay - MD, FIAC, Principal Consultant Niche Theranostics and Designer Anupama Dayal would be present at the event to support the cause.
Ms. Sudha Murgai, Director, Roko Cancer Charitable Trust - India says, “ This event is an initiative to join hands to spread a wave of awareness, I am waiting for the day when no one will have to face cancer without a solution.! Let us connect with the cause-communicate and educate the masses and together conquer cancer!”

About Roko Cancer Charitable Trust : Roko Cancer Charitable Trust works towards the awareness and early detection of breast cancer. They are the pioneers of bringing in the first mobile state of art vans fitted with mammography machines to India. The mammographies are done free of cost for the women in rural and urban areas.
The MKC ROKO Cancer Charitable Trust was pioneered by The Chawla Family in London in memory of Late Mrs. Manjit Kaur Chawla, wife of Mr. Ajinder Pal Singh Chawla. Mrs. Manjit Kaur Chawla succumbed to breast cancer at a very early age. After this adversity Mr. Chawla completely immersed himself in humanitarian work with several social and cultural organizations for the benefit of society. He did not want any other family to go through the trauma which he and his family had to go through.
