Event Description : The inaugural Janaagraha LC Jain Memorial Lecture “The Persistent Gentle Moral Giant Who Cares For The Little People: Nelson Mandela” will be delivered by Nobel Laureate for Peace (1984) Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Why: To commemorate the contributions of Late Shri LC Jain, a noted Gandhian activist and to take his cherished values and vision forward, his wife, Smt Devaki Jain, their two sons Srinivasan and Gopal,  and organisations such as Janaagraha and ActionAid India that Shri LC Jain was closely associated with have come together to organise this Memorial Lecture.

Late Shri LC Jain, who had also served as the Indian High Commissioner to South Africa shared a deep friendship with both Archbishop Tutu as well as Hon’ble Nelson Mandela, two stalwarts of the anti-apartheid movement. This lecture brings together the lived values of all three esteemed leaders.
