The weather changes…the incessant rains recede and there is a nip in the morning air already! The Bengalis are rejoicing as the flowering 'Kaash Phool' heralds the Sharad Ritu…which of course will bring with it, Maa Durga! 

In Delhi, this particular kind of palpable changes are best experienced through the many small signs in Chittaranjan Park; the hectic activity of workmen as they work on the skeletons of the ‘pandals’, the traders rushing with their displays of the latest designs of sarees and kurtas from Kolkata, the 'Puja samagri' stores stocking on the necessities for the puja rituals…and most importantly, the ‘Kumors’ (Idol-makers) in Delhi picking up the pace on the clay idols of Maa Durga – the Durga Protima!
