We at the Akshara Theatre -- which has been having much more than its fair share of hardship recently -- were absolutely thrilled when young Arjun Bahl, an audience member for Sherlock Holmes in the Adventure of the Priory School responded to Akshara Founder-Director Gopal Sharman’s emotional appeal for help and said he would do something to make a difference.
Arjun roped in his good friend, the popular stand-up comic Papa CJ, to put together a stellar line-up of leading comedians for a fund-raiser show for the Akshara on Sunday, August 4 at 7pm at the Akshara Theatre.
The Papa CJ Comedy Company, consisting of Papa CJ, Neeti Palta, Madhav Mehta, Appurv Gupta, Denny George, Sid Sood and Vikramjit Singh promise to pull out all the stops and make you laugh your pants off  in their Comic Fund Raiser for the Akshara Theatre. “Have fun for a good cause” as Papa CJ put it. “Make every laugh count”, adds actress Jalabala Vaidya, co-Founder-Director of the Akshara Theatre. Audience members – as always – get to mingle with the performers over after-show soup and nibblies.
