How to get there?
- By Metro: "Chandni Chowk" metro station is the closest stop. Get off here and take a rickshaw or walk down to the Lahori Gate.
- By Bus: All buses going to Old Delhi Railway Station will stop at the Ahimsa Sthal bus stand. If you are coming from South or Central Delhi, bus numbers 901, 405, 490 and 425 are some of the options. Get off at the "Red Fort" bus stand and walk down to the Lahori Gate.
- By Auto/Cab/Rickshaw: Ask to be dropped off at the Lahori Gate, Red Fort, on Netaji Subhash Marg.
Event Description : Darwesh presents a Food Escapade in Chandni Chowk.
Darwesh has been exploring the many culinary delights of old Delhi with the hopes of bringing them all to you, in a union of history and food! For our first food expeditions through old Delhi, we will explore the many offerings along the main artery of Chandni Chowk, a road that houses a gurudwara, a Jain temple complex and a mosque, and streets that have witnessed centuries of History and culture. Join us as we shamelessly attack dahi bhallas and aloo tikkis from an 80-year-old store, savour the buttery goodness of the Paranthewali Gali and make delighted noises through heavenly Rabri Faluda! Come with good solid walking shoes, reasonable clothing and a huge appetite!
Please note: These food stalls have existed for centuries without causing outbreaks of diseases; but while Darwesh can vouch for their quality and sumptuousness, we do not take responsibility for the food itself, or for the yummy noises you may make while eating it!
