Event Description : Sehar presents 'A Woman Alone' one-act Hindi play by Savita Kundra.

About The Play : A Woman Alone, the title monologue, is arguably the most brilliant of Fo and Rame's combined efforts. It is the story of Seema, a woman imprisoned in her flat by her husband after committing adultery with a boy young enough to be her son. On the outside it appears that Seema is well provided by her husband, Satish , with all the material possessions she could ever need. But on the inside her life is empty. Though, the title suggests that Seema is "alone" in her flat technically that is not the truth, her baby boy and her husband's molest ring invalid brother both reside in the flat. Seema's life however, is void of emotion- love and compassion.

About the Performer : Graduate From NSD (2008 Batch), Savita Kundra specialize in acting and masters in Hindi from Hindu college, Delhi University, has worked with NSD repertory for one and half year and also worked with WIZCRAFT company’s musical production ZANGOORA. she has worked with many eminent theatre director like PRASSANA, MARTIN HUTAN, DAVID FREEMAN, PAWEL MISKEWIECH, DR ANURADHA KAPUR, ABHILASH PILLAI, ROBIN DAS, D.R ANKUR, TRIPURARI SHARMA, KIRTI JAIN, B JAYSHREE.
Last year she did a solo performance ‘PATNI KA PATRA’ a story by TAGORE, and has done 24 shows in many cities and prestigious theatre festival of India like NSD THEATRE FESTIVAL BRM and ITFOK KERELA ETC.
Now working as a freelancer actor and acting trainer in theatre and media world.

About the Playwright : More than a playwright, Dario Fo is a "theatrical activist," a successful comedian who has been performing and writing for radio, television, film, cabaret, and theater for decades. One of Italy's most renowned dramatists, Fo's avant-garde approach is, in fact, a modern renewal of the commedia dell'arte. In the late 1960s, he formed the theater company La Nuova Scena (The New Scene), which produced politically committed shows in meeting halls of leftist organizations. One noteworthy example is Accidental Death of an Anarchist (1970), which is still performed, its content constantly updated from a radical Marxist standpoint to reflect current events. Dario Fo won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1997.

Formed in 2005, with a handful of people, SEHAR has become one of the most vibrant groups of Delhi within a short span. The group took its shape with the production of Sudhanva Deshpande’s play ‘Raat Bahut Ho Chali Hai’ in February, 2006. ‘Teri Meri Kahani Hai’, ‘Hey Ram!’, ‘Suicide’ were its early productions which had created a space in Delhi theatre circuit and got the attention.
