100 Pipers presents legendary Indian band Parikrama on a national HRC tour themed ‘Originals and the Gods of Classic Rock’

Hard Rock Cafe, a name synonymous with great music and a brand to encourage artists through their musical quest, is set to celebrate the success of a well-established name in the Indian rock industry – Parikrama. The band, arguably the biggest name in Indian rock, celebrates completing 22 years in the rock music industry with a tour across all the Hard Rock Cafe outlets in India – Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad. Hard Rock Café is constantly bringing its guests new experiences; be it live gigs, international music acts or fun food and drink festivals, and this tour is part of the same endeavour.

The Parikrama @ 22 Tour will see the band perform ‘Xerox’- their first original composition. This unreleased track was played only once in October, 1991. On the occasion of successfully completing 22 years of being together, the band will perform the track for their audience in each city. The song is special more so because it stands as testimony to 22 years the band has stayed together, an unheard of feat in the Indian music industry.

The band often fuses Indian classical music instruments like mridangam, tabla and flute with conventional instruments like guitar, drums and keyboards. In 2007, the band impressed the great rock legend Iron Maiden through their opening act. What followed was a 7 show UK tour, promoted by Iron Maiden’s legendary manager Mr. Rod Smallwood. More recently, the band was the only Indian band to represent India at the 50th year celebrations of John F. Kennedy’s coming to power.

With doors always open to such powerful talent, Hard Rock Cafe is delighted to host the band. Parikrama promises power-packed, exciting performances and gifts for their supporters as they start their tour in Hard Rock Cafe, Hyderabad on their birthday 17 June 2013.
