There was a man. A man of ambition. His ambition was to wear the crown.
He fought the king. He fought society. He fought against nature and the universe.
Most of all, he fought himself.
He won/lost everything.
A fight against the universe is a fight that no one can win.
'Macbeth of the Mountains' is the result of a two week residential workshop attended by a small number of Indian and International performers. It is a raw and immediate physical and vocal response to an extraordinary landscape and an extraordinary play.
'Stones have been known to move, and trees to speak.'
Director: John Britton (Artistic Director, Duende - UK)
Choreographer: Elina Elestrand (Alien Dance Company, Sweden)
This is the opening performance of The Ghosts of Shakespeare Festival, 2013, presented by The Arshinagar Project and First City
