Event Description : On the occasion of “101th Bihar Foundation Day” Govt. of Bihar is organizing “Bihar Utsav 2013” Handloom & Handicrafts Exhibition cum Fair.
Theme of Bihar Utsav 2013 is “Empowering Women is Empowering Society”
Programme Details of Bihar Utsav: Modern state of Bihar was carved out of Bengal Presidency on 22nd March 1912. To commemorate this historical event and promote a sense of pride and belongingness among the people, government has decided to celebrate the foundation day as “Bihar Divas” every year. To Mark the 101th Foundation Day of Bihar, a week long extravaganza will be held from 15th March to 22nd March 2013 at two different venues: Pitampura Dilli Haaat from 15 - 22March 2013(Handloom & Handicrafts Exhibition cum Fair) , Food courts featuring a menu of mouth watering Bihari Cusine at INA Dilli Haat in Delhi from 15th to 22nd March 2013 and Concluding Day Ceremony with Feb Show at Siri Fort Auditorium (22nd March 2013) in Delhi. The Industries Department Govt. of Bihar has been given the charge for this, while Upendra maharathi Shilp Anusandhan Sansthan shall be hosting the event in addition to depicting great cultural and historical heritage of Bihar the great development strides that Bihar is taking in the current scenario, will also be adequately presented authentic Bihar Cuisine will also be served in the gala functions. For the attraction of the coming visitors, there will be around 50 stalls of Handloom and Handicrafts. Bhagalpuri silk, Mithila paintings, Siki products, Stone made elephant of Bhbhua Stone, Jewelry from ship of Mahesi, Motihari Terracota products, Jute products like Jute jewelry, Tikuli Art, Nepura silk of Nalanda & famous handloom bed sheets of Biharsharif and 10 stall of Bihari Cusine at Pitampura Dilli Haat and 25 Stall of Bihari Cusine at INA Dilli haat will be some of the great attractions at this festival. In addition to Daily cultural Program and Musical evening from 15th march to 21st march 2013 at PitamPura Dilli haat by Famous and popular artist like Malini Awasthi, Sharda Sinha, Md. Raja Ali, Hasya Kavi Surendra Sharma, Indian Idol fame Singer Ritika raj,and Raju Mishra is great attraction of this year Utsav.
