Event Description : The Gati Dance Forum presents Contact & Improvisation Workshop, Facilitated by Being Motion - Irene Sposetti & Johan Nilsson.
This workshop will focus on the technique of contact improvisation, anatomy as applied to movement, body-work, lifts and suspensions, traveling through space together, weight-sharing as well as solo, duo and group scores. The aim of the workshop is to awaken openness, receptivity, softness and fluidity in the body and enhance a state of released and effortless motion, in and out of the floor, in and out of contact. The participants will be encouraged to focus on presence and spontaneity, on the capacity to find new ways of moving and simultaneously inhabit the consciousness of inner and outer spaces.

The workshop will culminate in a short public presentation on Saturday 16 March at 6.30pm followed by a contact jam.
