Event Description : Krishnaprerna Charitable Trust presents 7th Raasrang Holi Utsav.
In its 7th edition, the Raasrang Holi Utsav continues to enchant its eager audience by bringing to Delhi, Holi from different parts of India. This year the Raasrang Holi Utsav will once again bring together the Govt of Assam, Rajasthan & Bihar and celebrate the spirit of spring also popularly known as Basant & for the first time an international team from Bangladesh is also participating.
In the previous 6 editions the festival was celebrated by prestigious ensembles/groups showcasing Braj Ki Holi, Marwar ki Holi, Uttrakhand Ki Khadhi & Bhaithi Holi, Vrindavan ki Phoolan Ki Holi, Banares Ki Holi, Manipur Ki Yaoshang Holi among others.
The Holi Utsav celebrates the spirit of the Indian culture through tribal & folk participation. The festival blends the erotic & romantic with the heroic and comic. It encourages the breaking of social barriers, playing pranks and losing inhibition that are frustrating.
22nd March: Bhojpuri Jhoomar combines melodious song and energetic dance to herald the festive season of Spring from Bihar
-Nabanno , celebrate the harvesting season with dhols, singing and dancing from Bangladesh
-Raasrang Collective – Young musicians celebrate diverse nuances of music,under the patronage of Krishna Prerna Charitable Trust
23rd March: Basant Songs by Bangladeshi team: Nazrul geet, contemporary music and baul songs.
-Rajasthan ki Holi: celebrate the energy and colour of Braj ki lathmaar, phoolon ki Holi , Mayur dance and Raas-lila with an earthy desert flavor.
-Barpeta ki Holi -Devotional Holi geets express ecstatic devotion and the colourful beauty of nature accompanied by Dhulki (type of Drum) and taal (a cymbal)
24th March: Doul utsava from Assam that creates a second heaven on earth through percussion beats and Bamboo dance.
-‘Rishi Inc.’ a young innovative band is a perfect amalgamation of cultural and modern India. Experience their rendition of the soul of India fused with the strings of jazz.
