Event Description : One year is all it took for the super talented Singer, Shalmali Kholgade to make more than a mark for herself in Bollywood as she made 2012 a year to remember and how!
Shalmali debuted with the blockbuster "Pareshaan" earlier in the year and took the nation by storm. She then further underscored her potential by following that up with a string of raging chartbusters like "Daru Desi", "Aga Bai", "Lat Lag Gayee" and "Rumani", in the course of the year. In what has clearly proved to be a watershed period for Shalmali, she has both the fans and critics hailing her voice and versatility, swooning over her talent and charisma! Her sterling performances have seen her win the Zee Award, Screen Award and the most prestigious, Filmfare Award followed by Stardust Award this season. She has also been nominated at the forthcoming Radio Mirchi Awards and other International Awards! And if 2012 was anything to go by, one can be rest assured that it is only a harbinger of bigger and better things to come!
Apart from her Bollywood exploits and projects, Shalmali is also a Vocalist with Mikey McCleary's band, "The Bartender" which has played to packed audiences at leading clubs and lounges across the city. As part of the eclectic group of musicians, she has sung the track, "Khoya Khoya Chand" at all the gigs amidst much fanfare.She has sung the song "kabhi kabhi" on the B70 album, that is growing popular by the day.. The album was first performed at Amitabh Bachchan’s 70th Birthday recently. She has also been a Soloist with a Latvian troupe in a Cabaret named "Bombaloo" which had the opportunity to tour Moscow, Russia and Armenia. In addition, they have also performed in Pune and Mumbai. Her performances have met with tremendous reception both at home and abroad!
Shalmali isn't just an enchanting playback voice that brings cinema to life on-screen; but also a powerhouse, accomplished and versatile live musician and performer...an "all rounder" in the truest sense of the term! A nation danced to her voice, an industry hailed her talent; a breakthrough season has announced her big stage arrival!
