Event Description : 'The Divine Grace' An exhibition of Paintings & Sculptures by Renuka Sondhi Gulati.
Like a true artist, Renuka Sondhi, believes in experimenting and reinventing herself.  She pursues art with an unusual passion. The new  series is more contemporary, youth-oriented, with strong lines and chiaroscuro effect.
Renuka delves on grace and graceful lines come naturally. Technical virtuosity is not what she is trying to impress upon us. The animated suppleness and the unique curves make her works outstanding. She has made concerted effort to understand human elegance, be it male
or female form. Two dimensions or three, she moulds them with an emotion that transmits into her figures. The graceful postures of limbs and bodies flow in a natural rhythmic unity in her paintings and sculptures.
The recent works show immense maturity and depth.  She has made a strategic shift from the amalgamation of plant and human life in the earlier series to just humans in the recent one. The new element added is the extreme lyricisms.  Her grasp of muscle and sinew of human body is amazing, and that is what helps in the graceful movement of the limbs. The sculptures are strong in line and volume, whereas the paintings have a degree of fragility and poetry in equal measures. She refrains from using a brilliant palette and eloquently expresses with minimum
use of color. The contours communicate what remains to be expressed,  in paintings and sculptures.
Renuka felt honored at being awarded for her unique sculpture at the 9th International Biennale at Malta Europe. Not only were her works selected by AIFACS since 2007 every year, she also found an honorable mention award at HIFA. Having exhibited at Triveni, with other senior artists this summer, has left her a contented person. Renuka has traversed miles to reach where her artistic expression need no words. Her work speaks for itself………….lucidly and perceptibly.
