Event Description : Uttarayan Aarohi proudly presents “Uttarayan: Spirits of Mountains”, a festival of Kumoani and Garhwali art and culture.
Aarohi is a grassroots organization working in rural Kumaon mountains in Uttarakhand for over two decades now. Its mission is to create opportunities for rural community through quality healthcare, education, and by promoting enterprise, traditional culture and sustainable use of natural resources.
Uttarayan is a festival that will showcase the life in the mountains through a cultural performance by the children of Aarohi Bal Sansar, folk dance, music, hand-made handicrafts, short films, pahadi cuisine and a photo exhibition.
We hope to sensitize our audience to the realities of existence in remote mountain villages in Uttrakhand and to garner their support in giving quality education to 1000 children in the region.
