Event Description : Yellow Cat presents “The sale” play by Lluïsa Cunillé.
Synopsis: Three characters in crisis meet in an empty flat. The play is about personal need and disconnection. The characters only meet and relate due to an economic transaction. They are essentially solitary being, somewhat adrift in the modern world, wanting a hand to hold but with little hope of finding one.
Biography: Sukhesh Arora trained in tai chi and yoga before going on to study physical theatre at the Royal Holloway College, London. He was director of Imago TIE Company and in 2005 he founded Yellowcat Co. as a collective of performers, educators and new media artists to create work through purely collaborative means. Sukhesh lives in New Delhi.
Yellowcat was created in 2005 with the purpose of creating new work in new spaces. Since then, it has created performances for a diverse audience in widely different spaces. Its work is rooted in an urban context and draws upon various sources including historical records, comic books and mythology. Process is central to the way the company creates its performances and so most of its work is collaborative in nature. Each performance is seen as a new proposition made through seriously playful means. The company commits a part of its time to theatre education and fostering young audiences.
