Event Description : 'Poster Art' An exhibition of Posters on Environment by Arpana Caur, Suddhasattwa Basu, Pradeep Aeri and Harinder Singh.
We chose Poster as the medium to address a very conscientious issue, so that we can reach out to a larger audience who are the real stake holders for keeping this planet intact, not a few self-centered ones who only see their own interest.
Poster as a medium has shrunk in size because of space constraints to put up in public places. As a result it has become merely a tool to communicate what is happening and where it’s happening. The visual element has become secondary and lost its power and beauty. If you recall Polish posters they always have an imposing visual with all its fine points of sensitive visual language. So keeping this in mind, we want viewers to comprehend both visual and text as separate entities, yet working together as a guided missile.
