11:00 am to 11:30 pm — Book Launch
Cinedarbaar and NBT had organized workshops on creative writing for select students from different schools of Delhi. These children explored their creative writing skills to develop a book, titled Waves, which will be launched at the Mall.
11:30 pm to 12:00 pm — Bookmark It!
This is a fun DIY activity, where people can learn how to make their own bookmarks, which they can use every time they read a book.
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm — Storytelling Session
Kathashala, the professional storytellers, will take a special session using their unique and
innovative ways of narrating stories.
Saturday, 17 November 2012
11:00 am to 12:00 pm — Show and Tell
People will pick up objects from a box, like stones, leaves etc and come up with a story around it. A great way to develop a story by using objects around you, which usually go unnoticed, but are indeed effective tools and source of ideas for story writing.
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm — Sounds and Poems
Children will be asked to take a tour of the mall and record different sounds that they hear.
They will then be asked to come and create a poem using the sounds they recorded.
Sunday, 18 November 2012
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Treasure Hunt
People will form teams of 4, or take part as a family, search around the mall and solve clues based on books until they find the ‘treasure’. The first team to complete the treasure hunt wins a prize.

OTHER DAILY EVENTS
1. MY TYPE — A typewriter where anyone can just come and type whatever they want.
In this digital age where everything is touchscreen and hands-free, children and adults
alike have forgotten the age old practice of hand typing with paper and ink, a method
still used by writers world over.  We will ask people to type a page; corrections and
omissions will be encouraged as they will have to use scissors and glue to cut and
paste, creating a crafty activity. This will hopefully bring back memories of the tangible
and introduce children to the 'ancient keyboard'.
2. POETREE INSTALLATION — Inspired by Yoko Ono’s project. A big plant will be kept at the venue; children can write short poems and hang it on the plant with their names as poem tags. Share your creation with the world as we exhibit it at the mall for one whole week.
3. LIBRARY — Exciting books will be available for children to read throughout the day. Like to take your book home? You can even buy them.
4. WEAVE A YARN — This activity will be open for all age groups. On a big white canvas, start writing a story from where it was left. Write a paragraph, a sentence or just a word
— unleash the reigns of your imagination and creativity to create a story with random inputs from various people at the Mall.

  1. Something to ponder about with amusement & wonder !

Wonder how the elite urban children who are disinterested in books in school libraries will respond in ac malls to books promotion with 8 lac budget, only to prance around !
