Event Details : Mercury Theatre Company, Tinderbox and The Rage Foundation present 'Hard Places' English Play by Farhad Sorabjee.
Hard Places takes an intense and uncompromising look at what happens when families, lives and minds are divided by politics. Instead of being a documentary account of a particular situation,
it gestures towards the many conflicts past or present where the imposition of a border leaves bonds shattered, secrets uncovered, families and communities living apart in contested territories that suddenly define who they are and what they live for. A brother and sister are plotting to rescue their mother from the far side of the border... Inspired by ‘The Shouting Valley’ in the Golan Heights, but not tied to any time or place, Hard Places explores what happens when families and communities are shattered by the imposition of a border. It also offers an opportunity to hear new work by young writers from Mumbai that can be listened to prior to the main performance.
Duration : 80mins
Director : Chris White
Produced by : Rebecca Gould
