Géza Gárdonyi (1863 – 1922) was a poet, a teacher, a playwright, a novelist and a journalist. He had his greatest success as the author of a number of historical novels, for example Eclipse of the Crescent Moonand Slave of the Huns. These novels are still favourites in Hungary. The literary evening will take up Gárdonyi’s work and the interest of Hungarians in their historical past.
