Event Description : As part of the Aga Khan Development Network led Urban Renewalk project the community of Hazrat Nizamuddin Basti invites you to a celebration of seven centuries of living culture. Showcasing the food, crafts, arts, music, built heritage, cultural traditions practiced here.
Nestled in the heart of modern day Delhi, amidst colourful markets and busy lanes, lies one of the city’s most exquisite treasures – Hazrat Nizamuddin Basti, an area made sacred with the rauza (shrine) of the Sufi saint, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya, is one of Delhi’s oldest settlements. The area is visited by millions of tourists and pilgrims each year.
Building awareness about their neighbourhood heritage, the event helps instil a sense of pride and generates economic benefits for the community through a series of cultural programmes.

Heritage & Sufi Walks : Meander through Basti’s 700 years history as it stands woven in the architecture and culture of the place

Timing: 9: 30 am
Sufi Trail: Guided rickshaw tour to the serene
and unexplored local Sufi shrines. 4:00 pm (80 mins.) ALL THREE DAYS.
Meeting Point: Shiv Mandir, Hazrat Nizamuddin Basti

3. Shaam-e-Mehfil
Recital of Sufiana Kalaams in classical and traditional styles by Niazi Brothers (Trained by Ustad Faiyaz Wasifuddin Dagar, Delhi) and Shahroz Bharti (Trained by Ustad Jameel Ahmad, Rampur)

4. Dastangoi
16th century tradition of Urdu story telling comes alive with Dastango Mahmood Farooqui and Danish Husain in the historic setting at Chausath Khamba
