Bálint Balassi (1554-1594) led an eventful, adventurous life, acquired a versatile humanist education, spoke eleven languages and composed poetry in three languages . The Balassi Institute, which specializes in teaching Hungarian language and promoting Hungarian Culture all over the world carries his name. In this literary evening we celebrate the poet Balassi in whose work Hungarian poetry reached one of its peaks.
