Sangeeta Sharma is a dancer and choreographer for over 26 years. She specializes in Indian and Western Contemporary Dance (from ADF, in the USA).
Her theatrical pieces focus on social issues and the internal conflicts of human beings, expressed in a creative and innovative style. She aims to share her own spiritual search with her audience and explores that through a combination of dance and theatre.
With a strong base in street theatre, where she worked with the late Safdar Hashmi, Sangeeta has also been exploring the connection between the performer and the viewer. Some of her productions have been Behati Ganga, on female foeticide which was selected for the Bharat Rang Mahotsav and the Asian Performing Art Festival in Taiwan, Meri Meera, the Feminine Divine Force at festivals in Germany, France, USA, Russia, Poland and Taiwan and Images, Akanundan To...., an offering to the Aman Movement for the Eradication of Ragging.
