SpiralSeed’s Oktoberfest launches simultaneously with the official Munich Oktoberfest in ermany. After the successful 2-week festival at T.L.R. last year, this year’s Oktoberfest expands under SpiralSeed management to include T.L.R., Elma’s, Iron Curtain, Flipside & Grey Garden.
T.L.R. will feature a full line-up of exceptional live music and club nights with beverage sponsorship by Munich brewery Weihenstephaner, “the world’s oldest brewery”. Meanwhile, Elma’s, Flipside and Grey Garden shall provide mouth-watering food inspired by German and
Bavarian culinary traditions. Iron Curtain will curate a programme of films for the duration of the festival including classic selections from German cinema as well as films inspired by beer and comradery, two essential ingredients of Oktoberfest. The grand finale of the Oktoberfest shall of course be the Das Boot Beer Drinking Tournament, where the Oktoberfest King (or Queen) shall be awarded their rightful throne!

Musically, Wild City DJ and DJ Su Real will start from Germany and trace the influence of the country’s pioneers of electronic music from the 1970s like Kraftwerk down to the golden era EDM of today, presenting in essence, the Zeitgeist of modern electronic dance music.

Having spent his formation years contributing towards London's fine dining scene (The Ritz, Maze, Sketch, Gordon Ramsey). Free spirited chef extrodinaire - Morgan Daniel recently relocated to Berlin to expand his field of culinary expression. He is currently participating in The Grey Garden's chef residency program for 3 months of research, development, collaboration
and cultural immersion. On these two special nights, he’ll be presenting Oktoberfest classics in microcosmic canape forms. Seating is limited and by reservation only.

Live music is an integral part of Oktoberfest, and the festival often features charismatic bards. We couldn’t think of a more charismatic local bard to kick off the live music this Oktoberfest than Nikhil Mawkin. You may remember him as Elvis or you may even have thought of him as an opera singer. We couldn’t think of a better entertainer to kick off the live music schedule of Oktoberfest. Beer may lie at the heart of Oktoberfest, but live music is there in the lungs. If anything, Mawkin & his merry band of musicians will make music that will make you want to drink.  And don't worry if he looks angry - its just the beard!

That’s why we’ve picked one of the busiest young jazz outfits in the country, and our favorite at T.L.R., Drift to explore the deep frontiers of sonic virtuosity. A Bebop and  Contemporary Jazz trio based out of New Delhi with over three hundred gigs and counting, Drift! mesmerises ears every time they perform. The band plays an eclectic mix and fusion of classical
Jazz – inspired by and including artists such as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck - mixed with modern sensibilities such as the likes of Joshua Redman and Chris Potter.

Blues is also at the core of having a good time at Oktoberfest, and it definitely helps to drown your sorrows in beer! Formed in 2009, Big Bang Blues takes its spirit from the times when Blues was born. Fathered by voices that sang of angst and misery, backed by rusty stringed guitars and harps. With a belief that they are part of that ancestry, learners and disciples of Blues prophets like Muddy Waters, BB King, Clapton, Janis Joplin, amongst others, Big Bang Blues is a part of the evolution of the genre beyond blues to include Jazz, R&B & Rock. Having played at TLR a number of times in their early days, the expansive line-up returns to the TLR stage with fresh material and a
crystallized sound.
