Event Details : Instituto Italiano di Cultura in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy presents 'The Process of Unknowing' An exhibition of Paintings, sculptures by Italian artist Simona Bocchi
Simona Bocchi is from Monza, Italy and an internationally known artist and sculptor.  Her artistic journey has taken her to places of artistic inspiration and availability of materials, particularly marble and bronze.
This exhibition presents the works created by Simona during her six years in India. She explains that the discipline and technique developed during her training in Italy form the foundation of her work allow her the freedom to explore and express new inspiration. In Rajasthan, Simona found familiar materials, for example jute and marble, used in unfamiliar ways. These materials naturally became part of her unpredictable and dynamic artistic journey, interacting in the moment of creation with her 'unknowing' state and with her spiritual path.
The exhibited work is a fusion of this training and the creative impact of her Indian journey as an Italian contemporary artist who is exposed on a daily basis to local culture and traditions.
