COLOURS OF INDIA: CREATIVE ENCOUNTERS FOR KIDS WITH THE GREAT ARTISTS
Let the artist in your child truly bloom this autumn!
“Colours of India” is a magical journey for children between the age of 8 and 14. We will explore the great artists of the 20th century and the contemporary scene, bringing artworks alive through stories from artists’ lives, encounters with their best works, and secrets for unlocking enjoyment in any artwork.
Rooted in art history, but tailored for children, we combine learning to recognize an artist’s style and the vocabulary of art appreciation with making our own artworks in a response. We use a range of innovative techniques which are sure to keep every child enthralled and be able to be proud of their artworks.
The course is designed to give each child a new-found confidence to talk about their artistic heritage, build core historical and cultural knowledge as well as developmental skills.
All materials and resources provided. Small snack of juice and cookies provided at the end of each session.
We welcome all children. No previous art knowledge or art-making experience required.
“Thanks for gifting him the ‘imagination.’" Preeti, mother
“I like using my imagination and having fun. I love all the different fun things we get to do like painting, drawing, collaging, playing games... In fact I like everything!” Steven, 11

What: The course is divided into 15 sessions in all:

Bronze Module: Introducing great Indian artists (sessions 1-5)
Silver Module: Taking inspiration from India’s rich artistic heritage (sessions 6-10)

(sessions 11-15)
