In the southern suburbs of Milan, two friends Claudio and Manuel, who keep meeting each other in the square where they grew up, bring forth two different life-styles: the first has a regular and under-paid job, while the second lives as a drug-pusher. In the backdrop of social and racial tensions that bring to light all kinds of violence, the two friends would eventually face their feelings about a girl who breaks into their lives. The two directors narrate a peripheral microcosm where the residents, donning the mask of aspirations to preserve and improve relationships, reveal their own discomforts and prejudices for immigrants.
