Event Details : Tribute to Rajesh Khanna by singer Ramesh Nautiyal.
Several songs have been pictured using Rajesh Khanna, right from the melancholic Zindagi Ka Safar to the sensual Roop Tera Mastana was a Bollywood actor, film producer and politician. He was referred to as the ``first superstar`` and the ``original superstar`` of Indian cinema.
He appeared in 163 feature films, out of which 128 films saw him as the lead protagonist. He also appeared in 17 short films as well. He won three Filmfare Best Actor Awards and was nominated for the same, fourteen times.
He was the highest paid Indian actor from 1970-79 and shared the honour with Amitabh Bachchan from 1980-87. He was known as one of the first casanovas in Indian cinema. He was also a Lok Sabha member of the Indian National Congress from 1992 to 1996. After being critically ill, Khanna died on 18 July 2012.
