“The presence of a Buddhist monk is unexpected on the island of excessive luxury that is Hong Kong. The young religious man, wearing the traditional orange robes and shaved head, has just came down with other impressionable tourists from the boat that links Kowloon Bay with Hong Kong. All eyes are raised to the skyscrapers. The monk pulls out his camera and captures the skyline of Hong Kong, symbol of financial greed. This man, devoted to meditation, material renunciation and monastic life is today a tourist…” Jaime León (photographer and journalist)
