Recognized as one of the country's top homegrown jazz trios blueFROG is very excited to welcome Drift!!! The Trio back to our stage. With three talented young musicians combining contemporary jazz and bebop interspaced with standards, Drift is indicative of how the jazz landscape is changing here in India. A great chance to hear some quality jazz midweek!
Drift is a Delhi-based Bebop and Contemporary Jazz outfit - featuring Reuben Narain on Drums, Sahil Warsi on the Double Bass and Pranai Gurung on Guitars. They play an eclectic mix of their own music along with standards drawn from the Bebop era - and interpreted in a modern way. The artists of the band draw heavily from the music of artists such as Wayne Shorter, Joshua Redman, John Coltrane, Chris Potter, Lorenzzo Frizierra and Mcoy Tyner - to the name a few.
The band has played well over three hundred gigs spread over the past three years and these gigs have included festivals, concerts, residencies - and as well as corporate shows. The band toured Nepal in 2010 and Gulmarg in 2012.
