Event Details : 13 BCD in association with The Japan Foundation, New Delhi will host a Manga Cafe at its Cine Gallery. Manga are comics created in Japan, or by Japanese authors, in the Japanese language and conforming to the style developed in Japan in the late 19th century. They have a long, complex pre-history in earlierJapanese art, Unlike Western Comics Manga is not entirely focused or targeted towards children. Manga offers a complex system of ideations – formal and thematic and appeals to people across demographic.
At 13 BCD the role of the Manga Cafe is to explore its formal, histories and different influences and avatars. The central motif would be to highlight writers that have formed a core dynamism of Manga across genres. Another central ideas to highlight the influence of its formal properties on Gaming that users can interact with at the gallery. The history of Manga/Anime will be also be highlighted at the Gallery.
The Manga Cafe at 13 BCD will display core Mangas that has had definitive influence on Pop-Culture across the world such as Naruto, Gundamn, Monster series. The Manga space will also display books, magazines, and materials from generes that are part of Japanese Pop-Culture.
Manga Cafe will bring out forth a space that would encourage and welcome readers of all age groups to come and interact, discover and explore the world of Manga at the space.
13 BCD is a cine gallery run by cinedarbaar and The Japan Foundation at 13 Basement, Haus Khas Village.
