World Book and Copyright Day celebration at Instituto Cervantes, 48, Hanuman Road, CP > 3pm onwards on 23rd April 2012

Event Details : The 23rd of April has been designated by the UNESCO as the "World Book and Copyright Day", following the proposal of the Federation of the Spanish Guild of Editors, so as to coincide with the death anniversary of Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega in 1616. In Spain, the celebration of the Book Day is a tradition and a cultural festival marked by the presentation of the Cervantes Award.

Jordi Joan Baños is the correspondent of the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia in New Delhi. He had previously worked or collaborated in the Culture section, from 2000 to 2004, when he left Barcelona to go to Lisbon. He holds a degree in Information Sciences at UAB and has the script master of the UAB and the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Humanities at the UPF. He combines his profession with writing poetry, taking to his credit publications such as "L'alè d'Ariane" (62-Empúries, 2001), "The scale Lluerna l'i" (Angle, 2007), "L'apamador d'aeròdroms "(Pagès, 2012).

All those who visit us on that day will be presented with a rose*. Meanwhile, those applying for a library membership will be entitled to a 10% discount and be gifted a book.*
