This is the first of two benefit concerts to facilitate the provision of musical equipment and tuition at three jails within the Tihar Jail compound with the support of Furtados.

THE SKA VENGERS
The Ska Vengers is a New Delhi based band who blend ‘ska’ rhythms
with elements of dub, punk, jazz and rap to come up with a form of
music that is refreshingly different, energetic and highly danceable.
The band have completed work on their debut album, which is slated
for release in June 2012.

THE PETER CAT RECORDING CO.
PCRC ‘s music  has been described as post depression era cabaret; styles may ranges from Gypsy Jazz to Ballroom Waltz to Midnight Moonlight car chase music (think Don). The sound is heavily inspired by 60s/70s Bollywood music and much 50’s Americana. They won the much heralded TOTO prize for best band in 2011.

SLUMGODS
Currently in India, a collective of young visionaries have enabled themselves through Hip-Hop to provide themselves and their peers a platform to grow and learn. The group incorporate  breakdancing, emceeing, aerosol art, dj-ing to help serve as growing catalysts of change, working from the inside out and recognizing the divinity that exists among all living things.
SlumGods began by the collective synchronicity and energy of Bboy Aku of Dharavi, Bboy He Ra (Netarpal Singh) and Mandeep Sethi.

DJ URI
With a career spanning over 3 decades, DJ Uri has been true to the
Hip-Hop movement. Born in East London in 1974, Uri had a solid
upbringing being exposed to underground music from an early age.
The depth of his collection and knowledge he has gained over the years are a credit to Hip-Hop culture. He lives and breathes the real essence of the Old Skool DJ and his pledge to only play on vinyl decks stays loyal to the art of Turntablism.

THE VINYL RECORDS
The Vinyl Records (aka TVR), is a four piece girl band based in New
Delhi that came together in Feb 2010. The band was formed by Banu,
Minam and Mithy who all hail from Arunachal Pradesh. In Jan of
2011 they were joined by Cheyyrian Bark (originally from Guwahati,
Assam) as the lead vocalist and keytarist. TVR describe their sound as indie rock, new wave. Their influences include C.S.S. The B52s, The Donnas, Veruca Salt, The Ramones ,The Strokes and The Runaways; fusing indie and post punk with a dash of glam rock kitsch with the keytar!
