About ‘The Local Train’:
The Local Train's meteoric rise to fame can only be credited to their crisp fresh originals and a clean new sound that is becoming a rage all over the nation. Formed in 2009 the members of The Local Train were all professional musicians looking to come together and create something special, which is exactly what they did. In a short span of two years they have numerous shows under their belt having headlined festivals for IIT Roorkee, FrameFlixx Goa, RIMT Punjab, Amity University amongst others.

RAMAN NEGI
He is the frontman for the project. His gifted voice and his flair for lyrics has been earning him accolades year after year. Having started his formal training in music in Ambala, his shift to New Delhi 5 years ago jump started his career in music. Starting out recording for Studios, Raman has now dedicated himself entirely to his project. His vocal stylings have been appreciated in the HINDI FILM INDUSTRY AND NAGESH KUKUNOOR adjudged his talent with his voice as the best in the Rhythms Valentine Competition.
SAHIL SARIN
The drummer of the band is the prodigy who took the professional circuit by storm when he started playing professionally 7 years ago. Picking up drums at a tender age of 5 he went on to turn his passion into his dream career. Having cleared his Grade 8 Certification from TRINITY COLLEGE OF MUSIC, LONDON he has gone on to play sessions for SUBHASH GHAI’S AUDEUS STUDIOS in Bombay and is recognized for his work all over. His working and knowledge of his instrument has been appreciated by the likes of Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter Quartet, Virgil Donati, Wolfgang Haffner, Pierre Favre and many more international Grammy winning artists.
RAMIT MEHRA
The bassist of the band has been playing bass professionally for the last 5 years and has played with various projects all over India. Ramit started playing guitars at a very young age and from winning innumerable competitions to playing professionally, he’s made his mark in the Industry. He played on the COLORS TV Show IDEA ROCKS INDIA where his playing style was appreciated by Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan and Bappi Lahiri to name a few.
PARAS THAKUR
Paras Thakur on the lead guitars adds the final touch to The Local Train’s ensemble.
This young guitarist dropped out of a prestigious engineering college from the North to pursue his dream and went on to become the youngest Indian to secure admission in Musician's Institute Los Angeles. He found his true calling with The Local Train and now professionally composes and plays with the Band.
Achievements
Choo Lo their first original was an instant hit and is the recipient of a National Award conferred by Nagesh Kukunoor.
Nagesh Kukunoor on Choo Lo "A good tune either grabs me or it doesn't - it's a very instinctual thing. Later you can analyze it and break it down. The tune of this song grabbed me on the first pass. I like Choo lo because it reminds me of 70's and 80's rock ballads (REO Speedwagon, Boston etc) combined with a nice dose of Indianness."
