Event Details :  International bronze and marble figurative sculptor artist Blake Ward will be previewing his world renowned series of Fragments Bronze Sculptures for first time in India.
Canadian born Blake Ward , will also be showcasing his provocative and thought provoking performance of The Burning Buddha along with his classical yet deconstructed bronze sculptures from his series, Fragments, speak in harmony on themes of the destructive nature of war. Blake’s art has been inspired by landmine victims in Vietnam and Cambodia , as thousands are still dying in war torn Vietnam due to  landmines.
All the sculptures in the Fragements series  have been deliberately disfigured to draw attention to the issue of landmines. Limbs have been torn off and flesh ripped apart. A woman has a breast missing. Yet the injured bodies are strangely beautiful. They are art - with a difference.
Each sculpture is named after a different type of landmine - Butterfly PFM 1, Pineapple Cluster BLU 3, Putkimiina M68 and Apple P-40. Sadeye CUB-75" is a man with no eyes. Landmines regularly blind people," says Blake. "The exhibition is called Fragments because that's what landmines create. They shatter people's lives. They destroy beauty."
On both the days at sunset Blake will also be showcasing his artwork Burning Buddha ,which symbolizes the ghost that is left to speak to us of freedom, and of hope, a ghost that stands for Human Rights and remains a beacon representing the sanctity of life and the value of our beliefs.

Blake is an international bronze and marble sculptor with work in a number of important public and private collections. As an Art-Activist, Blake is well known for using his sculptures as “intentional art”. That is, he uses his métier to express his views on the large social issues of our time in an attempt to provoke raised awareness, dialogue and positive responses.

Blake will be showcasing his works along with Indian born New York based  artist, Jasleen Singh paintings titled  from the Nuclear Age and Search for the Inner Goddess series. Jasleenʼs use of bold colors in her work and her frenetic strokes in the Nuclear Age series juxtaposed with the fluid lines of Inner Goddess illustrate her journey through the late 80ʼs and early 90ʼs, in a world poised on the brink of a nuclear threat, to her search for inner strength to face the destructive reality of that time.
