Event Details : Movement and photography - what a contradiction in terms! And not just in art. Movement - the engine of change - is the defining principle of all that is animated and contemporary. It achieves its aesthetic peak in the art form of dance. Dance means movement, supported by music, melody and rhythm. Dance symbolises dynamism and constant flux.
The exhibition Frozen in Time. Photographs of Dance. Comprises 50 photographs - both colour and black and white - and a video installation of selected dance photographers and artists from Germany. Represented by internationally famous dance companies like William Forsythe and Sasha Waltz, the installation offers a glimpse into an art form that hovers between documentation and artistic autonomy.
