Niv Residency Winter 2011 is second in the ongoing series of international art residencies organised by Niv Art Centre, New Delhi. Twelve young artists from different parts of India would work for a month in the Niv studios producing works in their hall mark styles as well as in materials and mediums that are entirely new to them. Mentored by the noted art curator and critic JohnyML, this residency has a larger theme of ‘Style-Space-Site-Sign.’ The artists while pursuing their styles, involve the idea of given space, location and the markers that register such sites in the public memory. The outcome of the residency will be exhibited as a curatorial project.
