Event Details : The Yellow Line Project (YLP) is a unique project that invites leading choreographers and cutting edge media artists to make and present 7 original dance films based on the city of Delhi.
DANCE AND THE CITY
The focus of the dance-films will be Public Spaces in Delhi. Each project will be created around a specific urban site in Delhi, be it a heritage site, a foot bridge, pavement or a construction site. The content and intention of the dance and the way it is filmed, therefore, will be in constant dialogue with and be shaped by the history and physicality of the chosen site.
In a city such as Delhi, where scale and density are becoming increasingly unmanageable, its citizens are withdrawing from it’s shared spaces, parks, heritage sites, monuments and public buildings. The main objective of The Yellow Line Project is to call on artists from across the country to engage with Delhi through their art, and once again inhabit the city and its public spaces.
