Event Details : IRCEN (India International Rural Cultural Centre) presents Sattriya Dance Recital by Aparajita Dawka (A graded Noted Artist from Guwahati)
Aparajita Dawka is young & talented Sattriya dancer; she received her training in Sattriya dance from Guru Borbayan Ghanakanta Bora (Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee). Aparajita is an A graded Sattriya artist of Doordarshan Guwahati. She received a scholarship from Sangeet Natak Akademi under the project “Support of Sattriya Dance” under Gru Borbayan Ghanakanta Bora from the period 2003-2008. Besides Sattriya she has also received training in Odissi dance under renowned Guru Garima Hazarika. Aparajita has choreographed dance in an Assamese feature film title “Laaz” (2004), an award winning film directed by National Award Winner-Manju Borah.
She has presented her performance on Sattriya dance at various places under different banners such as:-Ganatantra Mahotsav in Shillong -2000, India International Centre, Delhi - 2000, ‘Nritya Parva’at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati-2002, Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Chennai- 2002, Rukmini Devi Kalakshetra, Chennai-2003, ‘Nrtiya Pratibha’ a festival of young dancers in Indore, Bhopal-2006, Konark Dance & Music Festival-2000, National Folk Arts & Crafts Festival-Thanjavur-2005, Golden Jubilee Celebration of “Natyanjali Festival’ at Kumbhakonam, Thanjavur & Chidambaram, Chennai-2006, North East Festival in Delhi-2006, Konark Festival - 2006, ‘Siddartha Kalapitham”-Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh-2007 to name a few.
