Event Details : India and The Orient in Contemporary Hungarian Literature.
In cooperation with the DIAF 2011
India and the Orient have always played a special role in Hungarian literature. Fiction and poetry in the last twenty years not only absorbed this tradition, but has shown new geographical and cultural dimensions in dealing with the immediate local surrounding and global distance. The work of Ferenc Juhász, Krisztina Tóth, Zsuzsa Takács, János Háy, László Krasznahorkai and Gábor Lanczkor will be introduced from this point of view in the literary evening. Their works will be read out in Hungarian, Hindi and English by students of Hungarian language.
