Event Details : Taj Enlighten Film Society, the largest film society in the country, is all set to launch its New Delhi chapter. Founded in 2006, the activities of the Society have met with great success over the last five years in the place of its origin – Mumbai. Home to around 10000 members in the city, the Society organizes weekly screenings at four different venues and frequently, major film festivals. Over the last five years, Enlighten Film Society has collaborated regularly with various major film societies and set-up base in cities such as Kolkata, Bangalore and Surat.
The film society will screen films every Saturday evening from 4 PM to 10 PM – with two films playing in the time-slot. The inaugural month of the film society, November, will be dedicated to screening some of the greatest comedy films ever made, with films by cinema directors as diverse as Ernst Lubistch, Jacques Tati, Mel Brooks and Archie Mayo. The screenings at the Delhi chapter of the society will commence with a screening of Away With Words, a 1999 film by eccentric Hong Kong cinematographer, Christopher Doyle. The film will begin at 4 PM on November 12th 2011.
